What makes a website great?

After designing hundreds of websites, we have quite an opinion on this. Our website designs have won some of the highest honors in the industry and we have a defined way of making every company have an interesting website. It all starts with:

1. Interesting Content

Content means the words, pictures, icons and images your site uses. If your text is boring, people won’t read your site. If you pictures are fuzzy, people will think you’re fuzzy. If your website looks old, people will go to the next site. Simply put, your company is as interesting as your website is.

2. Search Engine Love

The majority of people will find your website by using search engines. You can’t afford to make your site anything but perfect to search engines. So, that means:

  1. No Flash – This is an animated movie file that isn’t great for search engines.
  2. Lots of text – Search engines eat text for breakfast so they can know more about your company when someone searches for it.
  3. Meta’s Matter – Meta tags and descriptions are hidden text that all web developers should be programming for their clients
  4. Site Maps – Search engines use site maps to understand the layout of a site. Remember, make search engines love you!

3. A Call to Action

This makes your site create a return on your investment. You pay to have a site created, you’ll want something from it. If your company values sales leads, it should generate sales leads. If your company values customers walking in the door, it should value conversions. If your company values hits on social media, it should make customers follow your social media.

4. Be Up to Date

Some companies prefer to update their own websites while others prefer to pay to have theirs updated. All that matters is that you keep your site current. Websites are like food, they’re better when they’re fresh.

5. Work on Everything

Websites have to work everywhere. Whether your customer is finding you on an iPhone or a PC, your site has to work flawlessly. (All of our websites work perfectly on every platform, test our skills by clicking here)

So you know what makes a great website, but what kind of websites are available? The next step is knowing your options when it comes to buying a website.

How we build websites – From Start to finish.

Building a website is a lot like building a house. It requires a plan and a solid foundation from which to build. Every website is different, but both semi-custom websites and custom websites both have a process behind them.

Here’s how we build semi-custom websites:

  1. Domain Name: First, we find your domain name or buy one for you if it’s your first website. A domain name is simply the address of your website. Ours is www.SimplyWebDesignAlbuquerque.com. These cost about $9 per year, and we can purchase it for you, if you’d like.
  2. Hosting: Next, we need to rent space for your website to live. There are tons of options, but for semi-custom sites, we prefer GoDaddy. This is about $6 per month and we can purchase this for you too, if you’d like.
  3. Pick a Theme: We’ll then send you to a website we own, called: www.ExampleThemes.com . This website lists our most popular themes that you can preview and explore. Here, you can also submit answers to a questionnaire that is securely emailed to us to help us add text and content to your website.
  4. Build Your Site: After choosing your favorite theme and sending us your text, we’ll start building your website. We’ll post a front-page that lets customers know your site is under construction while we’re working on it, though we’ll give you a password to view your site. We’ll post your text and pictures and customize the site to reflect your company
  5. Refine Your Site: Once we build your site, we’ll give your plenty of time to explore the it and recommend changes. Most people only have a few changes or recommendations though we’re not happy until you are!
  6. Launch Your Site: When you feel that your site is a great representation of you, we’ll pull back the curtain and launch your site. Search engines will have already been finding your site and now your customers will be able to find you. Now, you’re free to update your website at your leisure and enjoy the business it brings you.

  2. Hosting: Next, we need to rent space for your website to live. There are tons of options, but for custom sites, we prefer to use a larger hosting company. This is about $16 per month and we can purchase this for you too, if you’d like.
  3. Sitemap and Wireframe: Your sitemap is plan that lays out all of the pages which will be on your website. It’s a great map that dictates which pages lead where and how many pages to build. A wireframe is like a blueprint which shows the general area where each element of the site will be located.
  4. Site Skin: Just as it sounds, the site skin is the design of the website. Here we layout the shapes, colors, text and pictures in the website. This stage is based on dozens of hours of discussion with each client to understand what will work best to find and deliver customers.
  5. Coding and Programing: This turns the designs of the site skin into an actual website. Once coded and programmed, the website will be able to be seen on a test website, which only you can see. Once we make any changes or recommendations made by you, the site is ready to go live.
  6. Launch Your Site: Once you feel that your site is a great representation of you, we’ll pull back the curtain and launch your site. Search engines will have already been finding your site and now your customers will be able to find you. Now, you’re free to update your website at your leisure and enjoy the business it brings you.

Everyone has their own method of building websites. Ours is designed to be not only painless for customers, but also fast and effective. Our biggest priority is our customers and that’s why we feel we’re the best web design company in the nation. Read some other reasons by clicking here.

Why Choose Simply Design Creative?

We’d like to think we know one thing better than any other- how it feels to be a customer.

We understand that sometimes technology or web companies are hard to deal with. We’ve heard our fair share of stories and that’s made us develop our company to be the easiest to work with, the most knowledgeable and the most trustworthy. Here’s some examples of how we make our customers feel like customers:

1. We’re Accessible

Most technology companies don’t like being contacted by customers. We love interacting with you. This gives us a chance to get to know you and when we truly know you, we can design the best tools for you. Over the years, we’ve made a list of ways to contact us:

  1. Phone
  2. Fax
  3. Email
  4. Website
  5. Facebook
  6. Twitter
  7. LinkedIn
  8. Text
  9. Letter (Yes, we still get them!)
  10. Telegram (No, we’ve never gotten one!)

2. We’re Affordable

Design is all we do. We don’t sell ads and we don’t sell phone lines. We design great websites and that allows us to keep our prices at a point where every level of business and need can stomach them. Also, we’re busy. We generate about 45 projects a week, and we’ve got the staff to make it economical.

3. We’re Amazing Designers and Programmers

The internet is always changing. There is new technology emerging every day and we’re on top of it. Between certifications, classes, seminars and degrees; we’re covered in every way. Everyone of our designers has a very impressive personal portfolio and our company has hundreds of case studies from dozens of industries.

4. We’re Trustworthy

We work with over 200 different companies a year and we get great testimonials from each one. We actually have space issues when posting our testimonials. Plus, almost every customer works with us on future projects after our initial project. Let us earn your trust before we earn your business.

So, who have we worked with? Simply put.. a lot of companies. Want to see some of our work in different industries? Enjoy some of our works of art by clicking here.
